TeamFree resources
The TeamFree event medical unit is a fully resourced frontline division of Wellington Free Ambulance.
The Team
The unit is staffed by pre hospital emergency care qualified staff. All staff are also engaged in further professional development and are working towards the National Diploma in paramedicine.
The Ambulances
TeamFree ambulances are iconic Chevrolet Silverado’s. These vehicles are well known for their frontline emergency ambulance service over the last ten years. The Chevrolets make the best event vehicles due to the size and roominess of the patient compartment. TeamFree has a fleet of three fully refurbished Chevrolet’s.
Other Resources
TeamFree also has a four wheel drive utility vehicle for accessing difficult terrain and a quad bike.
Mobile Triage hospital
A mobile triage hospital is available for large events where triage will be required.
Dedicated ambulance station
TeamFree has its own station located in central Wellington. The TeamFree station is fully resourced to support the unit and can also be used as a standby location for the emergency ambulance service.
